Every year on 5 September, India remembers Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is marked as Teachers’ Day, a day to honour the mentors who shape generations of learners. At Parinaama the occasion was observed with a lively cultural program that blended creativity and community spirit.

A Day of Gratitude and Expression

Organised by the students of the Skill Development Program themselves, the celebrations became a showcase of both talent and respect. The program opened with cultural dance and song performances. These were followed by student speeches, where learners spoke about the guidance they had received, the encouragement given in difficult times, and the role of their teachers in helping them discover confidence and direction. The event also featured addresses by teachers and coordinators, who spoke warmly about the meaning of skill development. They reminded the gathering that learning is about building courage and a sense of belonging.

Students Take the Lead

What made the program memorable was the ownership taken by the students. From planning the schedule to rehearsing their performances and handling arrangements, they ensured every detail reflected their appreciation. Their effort turned the celebration into a true community moment one where teachers were honoured not just with words, but through the initiative and sincerity of their learners.

As the day came to a close, what remained was a reminder of the enduring bond between teachers and students. The relationship is built on a mutual and shared purpose that sustains the idea of education and gives meaning to the Skills Development Project.
